Further to the values shared between the event’s sponsors and the Dakar, one of the sponsors’ top priorities is to accompany the competitors and the Organization in their adventure.
The Dakar Service Centre is an area located within the bivouac where sponsors offer a technical, advising or comfort service to the Dakar caravan members. It’s open from 3pm until 11 pm on each bivouac (except for marathon stages).
The partners of the Dakar also offer you preferential rates on their products.

Motul, Major Partner and Official Lubricant Partner to the Dakar, will offer competitors an engine oil analysis service.
A state-of-the-art laboratory will:
- Search for metal elements present in the lubricant in order to detect premature or accelerated engine wear and thus know if it is necessary to carry out replacement of a part(s).
- Analyse the composition of the lubricant in use in order to highlight any coolant leaks or fuel dilution that may damage the engine and limit its performance.
- Follow the evolution of these factors on a daily basis and recognize the development of lubricant ageing and degradation due to the extreme conditions of use. This predictive tool will also allow crews to organize their maintenance schedule (parts replacement, oil change etc...).
To benefit from this service, competitors just have to go daily to the Motul truck, positioned in the Dakar Service Center, in order to request an analysis kit and then return with the sample which will then be analysed by machine. Two technical experts (a French and an Argentinian) who speak English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German, will be present for the entire Dakar event to analyse the results and make recommendations to competitors. This free service, offered to all competitors on the Dakar, will be available from 15h00 to 23h00 at all the bivouacs within the rally (except the Marathon Stage).
Motul's engine lubricant analysis service is provided for guidance only and cannot anticipate any mechanical damage that may occur during the race.
The BFGoodrich® brand of tyres is once again the official supplier to the Dakar Rally in 2024.
With its dune crossings, different types of soil, temperature differences due to altitude and the possibility of protruding stones along the route, the Dakar represents a major technological challenge for tyres. Throughout the Dakar, BFGoodrich® technicians analyse the tyres and advise the various Teams on the use and optimisation of their tyre equipment.
BFGoodrich Dakar Service Centre: A premium service centre at every bivouac and for everyone!
BFGoodrich® will be deploying a service centre where all Dakar participants are likely to find themselves. The facility, which will be set up within the Dakar Service Centre, will consist of a workshop truck and a team of experienced fitters. Over the course of the event, around 2,500 assembly/disassembly operations will be carried out (cars & bikes).
The service will be available from 3pm to 11pm each day of the rally (excluding marathon stages) and from 9am to 9pm on the rest day. Competitors will be able to drop off their tyres at the latest 2 hours after their arrival at the bivouac, the timing of the finish line being taken into account. In the event of a large number of competitors and/or unavailability of the Service Centre, the technicians on site will establish a priority according to the order of arrival.
For safety reasons, no tyre repairs will be made. The technicians on site reserve the right to refuse the fitting of tyres or foam if this presents a risk to the user (mixed brands, non-approved dimensions, etc.). For all wheels that are deemed to be non-compliant, mounting and dismounting will be provided but inflation will be carried out by the competitor or his team. In all cases, the use of the tyre remains the responsibility of the rider and/or his team and BFGoodrich and/or its supplier cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by its use during the event. Teams using bolted wheels must screw the wheels on and off themselves (bead lock).
